Maryland Law Enforcement Officers, Inc. was formed on January 27, 1936, as a professional non-profit organization dedicated to promoting professional law enforcement throughout the state of Maryland.

Membership in this professional group shall be limited to any person who has been sworn in and is regularly employed as a law enforcement officer by any duly constituted law enforcement agency as recognized in the by-laws of this Corporation.
The applicant must be principally employed law enforcement duties in Maryland at the date of application.
